This privacy policy sets out how Weir & Carmichael Ltd uses and protects any information that you give Weir & Carmichael Ltd when you use this website.

Weir & Carmichael Ltd is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected and the secure management of personal data we store in relation to customer information when using this website. 4.  Retention and destruction of data

By law we have to keep records for 6 years from the end of the last company financial year they relate to.  In line with Article 5 (e) of the GDPR we will not keep personal data for any longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it is being processed. After this period records are disposed of securely.

We endeavour to ensure that staff and our business conduct themselves accordingly online. Should users visit any of our official profiles on social media sites, they are advised to verify the authenticity of such sites before engaging with them and in particular before sharing any personal data. We never ask for passwords or personal details on these sites. Sometimes our website may feature buttons linking to social media platforms. You should use these at your own discretion and in the knowledge that doing so may publish content to your social media profile or page.

Under GDPR, Data Subjects have certain rights accorded to them. This includes being able to request a copy of the personal information held by us in hard copy or electronic format. This is known as a Subject Access Request. Data Subjects are entitled to ask for a restriction on the processing of their personal data and where applicable, a right to be forgotten.
