This November, charity Hands-On London ran its annual ‘Wrap Up London’ scheme for the eighth year. The scheme collects unwanted coats donated by the public at a number of major tube stations around the capital city over three days. In addition to this, private collections are made from businesses, families and groups of friends. These are then distributed by 800+ volunteers to the homeless, elderly and refugees.

After seeing so much support in London, Hands On have expanded their campaign to Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow, in partnership with international charity Human Appeal. This means many more individuals in need have a coat to keep them warm during the colder months.
Weirbags proudly supplied the woven polypropylene bags used by volunteers to store and transport coats collected, which were printed with Wrap Up London branding in order to help promote the charity. Weirbags’ Commercial Director Julia Pemberton added:
“We are very pleased to see our printed bags used to help such a worthwhile cause.”

Wrap Up London hold their heads high as one of London’s most successful volunteer-led initiatives, constantly increasing and achieving their targets. To support Hands-on London with a donation or to get involved, head over to their website
